Jumping! Faith over fear!
Jumping! Faith over Fear from Phyllis Lane on Vimeo.
Climbing a 30 foot pole seemed easy at first until I got to the top and had to somehow maneuver myself to the very top without holding onto anything. When I reached that last step, I stopped there, almost frozen in fear, wondering how am I going to do this and not fall? As I was frozen there, I began to notice fear and how a part of me wanted to climb back down and say forget it…. become smaller, do less and never risk. Then there was another side of me, that said you can do it, just have faith, you are supported. I began to just breath, and I realized my breath was the way to let go of fear… and I slowly stepped up onto the top step… even as the pole swayed back and forth. I finally got to the top and felt the morning surge through me, and I realized that in the midst of faith, fear is always present. But I surrendered my thoughts, took deep breaths, became present… and then jumped! In that moment, I realized I was supported. How important to acknowledge fear but step out in faith anyway!
